The Idea

Years ago, one of the leading brands for baby gears - Baby Trend, created the Sit and Stand. Afterward, many other brands followed and came up with a similar concept. Now, a wide range of best sit and stand strollers are available in the market.

The Design

This innovation will change your idea of double strollers. If you are a parent of an infant and a toddler, this stroller is your lifesaver. It is specially designed to accommodate them together.

The traditional set up would be the younger child on the regular seat in the front and the older sibling on a standing platform/bench seat at the back.

The Benefits

Via Amazon.Com

The benefits of sit and stand stroller :

  • It accommodates your kids together - It is beneficial in crowded areas or busy sidewalks when you want them to be always at your sight or easily at reach
  • Independence of the Older Child - The concept of standing up is suitable for the toddler who could already walk on his own and doesn’t want to be strap into a stroller seat for a long time.
  • A Large Storage - Most double strollers have larger handy storage baskets which are helpful during trips or outings.

The Downside

Via Amazon.Com

Most sit and stands are light on weights which are great for smooth surfaces, but not fine for non-paved surfaces for its smaller wheels and little suspension. It is made to carry two kids so don’t expect it to handle rough terrains.

Some parents complain about the space it provides as the infant seat at the front takes a lot of room from the older child in the back, especially if have to recline the front seat. It is very true, but it is not much of an issue as you read on.

The Features

Via Amzon.Com

  • Weight - These strollers are normally lightweight and narrow for easy transport and storage.
  • Capacity - Mostly limited to 50 lbs each seat which is capable of carrying a big toddler.
  • Material - A sturdy frame construction and durable fabric to withstand spills.
  • Safety - This stroller usually comes with a harness to secure your child in the front or platform seat.
  • Comfort - A wide space and padded seats would be great.
  • Extra-Features - Large storage baskets, snack trays, drink holders, parent console, and a canopy are among those to be considered.

So, who invented the Sit and Stand again? Baby Trend! And still, continue to produce remarkable variations of the product. The Sit N Stand Ultra is pretty much one of the best sit and stand strollers around and mind you- it will not cost you a fortune.

With the total capacity of 100 lbs of weight limit (50 in front, 50 in the rear), it can last for your child’s toddler years.

The adaptability of the Ultra makes it more flexible than others where it can accommodate your kids in multiple riding positions if you want to place you infant at the rear facing you. It is perfect for moms with an infant and a young child, or even twins by simply attaching two car seats at once

On the downside, the longer length (49 inches), the relatively small wheels, and the large front make it a bit harder to steer. But it is not much an issue on paved surfaces.

On the bright side, folding and latching are easy with one hand. It is safe with a 5-point harness at the front and a 3-point at the platform. A foot-activated brake and reclining front seat are common features. There is not much to worry about reclining seats normally eating the space of the child at the back especially if the older child is standing up.

In front of the handles are two cup holders and another one for your baby’s sippy cup in the infant swing away tray (great for easy access) and also the stroller comes with a removable canopy and large storage compartment for everything you could need on your days out.

There are many reasons to love this stroller, and with the price of $139, this is worth checking out.

Joovy may not produce the first sit and stand, but they might have nearly perfected it.As the name suggests, weighing 20% less than other brands make it the lightest sit and stand stroller on the market. Thanks to its aircraft-grade aluminum frame. Despite the light weight, this stroller is sturdy.

With the 4-wheel suspension system and the overall lightness of this stroller, pushing is effortless, and the ride is smooth.

One of the features that you will love is the 3-position recline and the extended canopy for both of your kids. The rear kid can also choose to sit or stand, face forward or backward. See review video here :

Two kids’ means more stuff to bring. The large storage basket of the Joove Caboose light will not fail in giving you a lot and lots of space. It also comes with a parent organizer, a tray and universal adapter for car seats that accommodate most major brands.

A combined weight of 90 lbs will not make you worry taking your kids together. It is easy-fold, compact with padded front and rear seat for added comfort. Joovy Caboose, I think, is the perfect stroller for long comfortable rides.

The front seat can be folded to snap in your infant car seat (not included) securely with an audible double click. If you are in doubt, it is better to use the Chicco Keyfit and the new Fit2.

The same with the rear which offers a 3-point security with easy grip handles for stability if your kids choose to stand either facing you or the road ahead.

It also provides convenience for Mom and Dad with its padded push-handle, a parent tray with cup holders, and easy access to its large storage compartments.

Our Top Pick

We’re thankful to Baby Trend that Sit and Stands exist, and I’m going to choose their product- Sit N Stand Ultra. We pick it not for a reason it’s a Baby Trend or because it is their cheapest Sit N Stand, but because it offers just about everything that a parent will need. The best thing that we like is you can use it for your twins or children with either small or big age gaps.

By any means, you can’t go wrong if you pick any other stroller on our list. Choosing the best sit and stand stroller is a matter of your preference and priorities. After all, parents know best.
